Energetic and innovative, sincere and confident: this is how the young and dynamic woodwind ensemble presents itself. In concerts, the five musicians are always in tune with the zeitgeist. Their interpretations are both approachable by the audience and one hundred percent professional.

The name 5 Beaufort is taken from the measuring unit for wind speed, named after the Rear Admiral Sir Francis Beaufort. This name gives voice to the entire spectrum of expressivity that the five musicians incorporate together. In order to reach their dynamic form, each member contributes their very individual perspectives, reaching far beyond the realm of music. Thus, the flutist is also a passionate football player, bringing the team spirit from the field into the music. The clarinettist has gained his analytical talent also from his painting. And while the bassoonist tends to the ensemble’s music with care and patience just as he does the plants in his garden, the oboist brings spontaneity and authenticity into the concerts. Finally, the hornist transposes her fencing skills of precision and surprise to the collective rehearsals.
